Farm Fresh Food for OCPCC Families

Produce from local farms delivered to the OCPCC kitchen on July 20

Thanks to a grant from the Vermont Food Bank we’ve been feeding the children in our Early Education Program with fresh local berries, veggies, salads, and eggs since the middle of June.

Everything comes from our good neighbors and friends – the farmers who grow food and raise chickens right here in central Orange County.

Each week we pick up whatever is in season on the farm or at the farmer’s market and Lisa is able to offer our kids the best food money can buy!

Now we’re encouraging families to support our farmers and take fresh local produce home with some Chelsea Farmers Market ‘greenbacks’.

These are special tokens that were donated to us from the United Church of Chelsea’s Food Shelf Program to be exchanged for vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat, and dairy produce.

The tokens can only be used to directly purchase from the farmers who sell their products on Friday afternoons from 3 PM – 6 PM at the farmer’s market on Chelsea’s North Common.
