A Letter to Families from Our Early Childhood Program Director, Sarah Wright

Dear OCPCC Families,

As we get closer to the Holidays, I wanted to touch base with you on the current guidance from our State in regard to travel and Covid-19. If you plan on traveling outside the State of Vermont for the Holidays you will need to adhere to the VT Dept. of Health guidelines:

“When you return to Vermont, you are required to quarantine for 14 days. You have the option to get a Covid-19 test on, or after day 7 of your quarantine and end your quarantine early with a negative test result.”

This means for any travel outside our State your family will need to quarantine for 14 days upon return, or for 7 days and then get the Covid test. Once you have your negative result from the test your child may return to care.

As cases increase, and get closer to home, we continue to be very strict with our health and safety policy.

If your child is symptomatic, be on the safe side and keep them home. I cannot accept children into care who are symptomatic.  I will send children home if they show signs that are listed as Covid-19 symptoms while in our care.

If I cannot get ahold of you, I will be calling the people listed as your Emergency Contact to come pick up your child.

If you would like to update your Emergency Contacts please let me know. In order for our Center to stay open for childcare there needs to be an abundance of caution to keep the whole population at the Center safe.

People with the following symptoms may have COVID-19: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting and/or Diarrhea.

Having these symptoms does not mean that the person is Covid positive, but as a Center we need to treat any symptom as a possibility for Covid-19, until we have the negative test result.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards, Sarah Wright
